The Story Behind LiDOCK

LiDOCK wasn't created in a design office—it was born from years of real-world experience on job sites.

As a cabinetmaker and bespoke kitchen fitter, I have spent years transporting tools and accessories in boxes, buckets, and anything else that would keep them together. When the Systainer was introduced, it was a game changer. Everything stacked neatly, locked together, and was easy to transport. For the first time, my tools had a professional storage system and saved me time walking backwards and forwards to my van.

But after using Systainers every day for many years, I realised there was still room for improvement.

Small accessories, cutters, drill bits, hex keys, screws, and batteries would often end up buried beneath larger tools. Finding what I needed meant digging through the case, and more than once I found myself wondering which Systainer I'd put an accessory in. Like many tradespeople, I occasionally arrived on site only to discover an essential part had been left behind, miss placed or lost.

Every missing accessory cost far more than its replacement value. It meant lost time searching, unnecessary trips back to the workshop or supplier, delays on the next job, and interruptions that affected both productivity and profitability.

That's when I realised the problem wasn't the tools—it was the way they were being stored inside the Systainer.

The Systainer is an exceptionally well-designed tool storage system, but the unused space inside the lid represented an opportunity to bring to life the perfect sollution.

I believed there had to be a better way and that my idea needed more than one use. Born was the additions of the shelf pin hole jig, Hinge jig, and even Dog Hole Jig. Just simply remove it from any case and its all set to go, with no need to carry extra jigs on site when the factory forgot a few holes or the CNC missed them.

That belief became LiDOCK.

Every LiDOCK product is designed: to help tradespeople work smarter by making better use of the storage they already own and it must have a more than one purpose.
